A
Acid Reflux Heartburn is the major symptom of acid in the esophagus, characterized by burning discomfort behind the breastbone. Symptoms include cough, hoarseness, voice changes, chronic earache, burning chest pains, or nausea.
Acupuncture is a technique of inserting and manipulating fine filiform needles into specific points on the body with the aim of relieving pain and for therapeutic purposes According to acupuncture theory, these acupuncture points lie along meridians along which qi, a kind of vital energy, is said to flow.
Allergies Allergic reactions occur to environmental substances known as allergens; these reactions are acquired, predictable and rapid. Symptoms arise with contact with air, such as eyes, nose and lungs.
Aromatherapy is a form of alternative medicine that uses volatile liquid plant materials, known as essential oils (EOs), and other aromatic compounds from plants for the purpose of affecting a person's mood or health.

Bamboo Parker & Morgan bamboo pillows are made, inside and out, from Moso bamboo fiber. The Moso bamboo is broken down into a fiber by machine not chemicals meaning that P&M bamboo pillows eco-friendliness is assured. The dyeing of the woven bamboo fabric has passed the test of OEKE-TEX 100 standard (European environment protection certificate).
Buckwheat Buckwheat hulls are used as filling for a variety of upholstered goods, including pillows. The hulls are durable and do not conduct or reflect heat as much as synthetic fills. They are sometimes used as an alternative natural fill to feathers for those with allergies.

Down The soft breast feathers of a duck or goose, especially the female eider duck, used to fill pillows and duvet
Duck Down Duck Down offers excellent thermal properties, and has good lofting characteristics. This means that the down traps small pockets of air efficiently. The small pockets of air provide the thermal barrier. Down has the added property that it can be packed into a very small space.
Dust Mites Dust mites feed on organic detritus such as flakes of shed human skin and flourish in the stable environment of dwellings. Dust mites are the most common cause of asthma and allergic symptoms worldwide

Eider down The eider duck is a large sea duck of the northern hemisphere, the male of which has distinctive black-and-white plumage while the female has mottled brown plumage. Eiderdown is the soft fluffy breast feathers of the female duck used to fill pillows.
Essential Oils are also known as volatile or ethereal oils, or simply as the "oil of" the plant material from which they were extracted. Oil is "essential" in the sense that it carries a distinctive scent, or essence, of the plant.
Eucalyptus a tall evergreen tree mainly native to Australia that has tough aromatic leaves and flowers in clusters and provides good timber, resin and an oil with medical properties. Also the source of lyocell.

Fill Power Down insulation is rated by fill power, measured as the number of cubic inches displaced by a given ounce of down (in3/oz). Higher fill-power downs will thus insulate better than lower fill-power downs of the same weight. Insulation in most outdoor equipment ranges from about 400 to 900 in3/oz (230-520 cm3/g). Down rated 500-600 in3/oz (290-360 cm3/g) is warm enough and light enough for most conditions, and 800-900 in3/oz (460-520 cm3/g) fill is used for very lightweight and/or very cold-weather gear.
Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese practice believed to utilize the Laws of both heaven (astronomy) and earth (geography) to help one improve life by receiving positive Qi. Proponents claim that feng shui has an effect on health, wealth and personal relationships.

Goose down The breast feathers of the goose used to fill pillows, duvet and toppers. Different breads of goose vary in length, for example Chinese goose down is shorter in length than Hungarian goose down. When the down is used in pillows and duvet this variation will affect the overall weight of the product. The down from the eider duck is thought to be the lightest of all down.
Gusset In sewing, a gusset is square piece of fabric inserted into a seam to add breadth or reduce stress

Hypoallergenic is used to describe items (especially cosmetics and textiles) that cause or are claimed to cause fewer allergic reactions.

Insomnia inability to fall asleep or to remain asleep long enough to feel rested, especially as a problem continuing over time

Jasmine Jasmine is traditionally said to help against coughs, sore throats or sleeping problems. They are often strongly and sweetly scented.
Jet lag An internal physical disturbance experienced by air travelers on flights across different time zones. It affects the body’s internal clock, disrupting sleeping patterns, eating schedules and body temperature.

Lavender Essential oil of lavender has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. Lavender is frequently used as an aid to sleep and relaxation: Seeds and flowers of the plant are added to pillows to help sooth and relax at bedtime.
Loft The thickness and fluffiness of the pillow filling.
Lyocell Lyocell is a fiber made from the eucalyptus tree spun for filling and pillows and duvet and woven into fabric. Some main characteristics of lyocell are that it is soft, absorbent, very strong when wet or dry, and relatively resistant to wear; it can be machine- or hand-washed or dry-cleaned.

Micro-fiber Micro-fiber is the highest grade of synthetic polyester fiber. Fabrics made with micro-fibers are exceptionally soft and hold their shape well. When used as fillings for pillows and duvet, micro-fiber has the feel of goose down.
Memory foam is firmer in cool temperatures and softer when warm. Higher density memory foam reacts to body heat that allows it to mould itself to the shape of a warm body within a few minutes. Lower density memory foam is pressure-sensitive and will mould more quickly to the shape of the body.

Polyester A synthetic polymer used in making resins, plastics and textiles. Used as filling in pillows and duvet. Polyesters may change shape after the application of heat. While combustible at high temperatures and has a high tenacity.

Sleep Apnea is a sleep disorder characterized by pauses in breathing during sleep. Each episode, called apneas, lasts long enough so that one or more breaths are missed, and occurs repeatedly throughout sleep. The individual with sleep apnea is rarely aware of having difficulty breathing, even upon awakening. Sleep apnea is recognized as a problem by others witnessing the individual during episodes or is suspected because of its effects on the body

Subluxation is a change in the position of two adjacent spinal bones (vertebrae), and the resulting ill effects on the nervous system and the rest of the body. An oversimplification of this then could be a "pinched nerve".

Thread count is a measure of the coarseness or fineness of fabric. It is measured by counting the number of threads contained in one square inch of fabric, including both the length (warp) and width (weft) threads.
Thyme the herb in water can be used for cough and bronchitis. Medicinally thyme is used for respiratory infections in the form of inhalation.
